First, turn off all the circuit breakers attached to that safety switch, then try to reset the safety switch. If it stays on, turn the breakers back on one by one until one of them trips the safety switch again. That tells you which circuit is causing it.
Once you've found the circuit, work out which power points are on it and unplug everything from them. Outdoor power points are the culprit about 90% of the time, so check those first.
Now try to reset the safety switch and turn that circuit back on. If it holds, plug your appliances back in one at a time until you find the one that trips it, that's your faulty appliance.
If the safety switch still won't reset even with everything unplugged, give me a call. That points to a wiring fault that needs investigating.
Have a look for a power point in the kitchen with an extra switch in the middle of it, or a power point in the cupboard next to the rangehood. Rangehoods are often switched from there, and that switch can get knocked off by accident. Flick it back on and it'll usually fire straight back up.
Your switchboard is split into separate circuits, lights, power points, oven, air con and so on. When a fault happens on one of those circuits it can trip just that one and leave everything else working. So losing your lights but keeping your power points (or vice versa) is completely normal.
When several circuits are protected by the one safety switch (RCD), a fault on any of those circuits trips the safety switch and cuts power to all of them at once. That's why a single faulty light can knock out more than just the lights.

Yes. We wall-mount your TV and install a recessed power point so it sits perfectly flat against the wall. We also run the HDMI, data and aerial cables hidden inside the wall, so all you see is a clean TV on the wall with no visible cables.
